Creative and Dreams Music Network and Fred Cannon are proud to welcome CBM Records.
We are excited to join forces with our first independent sister label to help promote Indie artists and management. We find the passion and energy of CBM Records equal to our profile.
Kimberly James started out in music as an independent booking agent and tour manager, and fast developed her skills and expertise in the industry, putting in the hard work for national and international artists like Dave Ellefson of Megadeth, Sal of Sworn Enemy and artists worldwide. She has been interviewed and featured by magazines and radio stations across the world as well as featured in a music industry book “Swimming With Sharks”, by Akasha Multimedia in New York. After closing her design business, seeing that music was headed for the technology she was already working in, she started her own label in 2012. The label at first was for the band she already managed, but has grown quickly over the last 3 years.
She divides her time between speaking at music conferences, consulting bands, developing new artists and growing her record label CBM Records, an independent label, and many charities. She has built a respect from musicians worldwide and has persevered through a lot of change in the music industry.
Kimberly has history in every avenue of music, including show, festival and concert production, sound, lights, talent buyer, booking agent, tour manager, consultation (of artists as well as venues), management and now the label world. Kimberly provides her time to many charities, including 500 Songs for Kids, The National MS Society, The National Autism Society, Pepperland Kids Music Camp and many more on a continuous basis. Kimberly believes that to succeed in life as well as music you have to give back.
Kimberly is also production manager for country and rock for the Ga Music Awards, along with wearing many other hats for the awards. Over the few years with the awards, she has helped build a community of artists and industry, along with the founder Omar McCallop, that support one another. Many artists nominated at the awards have gone on to great success. The Ga Music Awards are an independent awards show held annually at The Buckhead Theater in Atlanta, Ga, providing a platform for unsigned artists in the state of Georgia.
Kimberly has recently been asked back to her 3rd year as a panelist at SXSW V2V and spends 16 hours of every day growing the label with now 18 artists/bands. This year has seen immense growth and most artists on the label are venturing into major recording deals, national airplay, licensing deals and sales growth. Her goal is simple, provide a home for artists, make a change in music and see success for every artist on her label.
